"走走畫畫喬治市 See it, Sketch it - Sketching Georgetown"
To commemorate the 7th anniversary of Georgetown's inscription in the UNESCO World Heritage list, the organisers jointly organisied "走走畫畫喬治市 See it, Sketch it - Sketching Georgetown" on Sunday, 5th July 2015 (8.00am) at Penang Chinese Town Hall (Gathering Point).

The sketching activity starts from 9am to 12pm, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling. Collection of the artworks at 12.30pm (Gathering Point - Penang Chinese Town Hall)
Exhibition, Talks & Sharing session by 2 famous artists, one of them were Chong Hon Fatt, the session starts from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Equator Leith Street.
Heritage scenes as the theme, including street views, buildings, traditional trades or the people, which can be seen from the venue of the sketching activity.
All participants are welcome. All artworks must be done on the spot, not prior to that. A3 size (297mm X 420mm) in any mediums. Drawing papers will be provided, but participants are allowed to sketch on their own papers as well.
Safety is at participants' own responsibility, all children should be accompanied by parents. The main organizers and co-organizers will not be held responsible for the safety of the participants.
All artworks will be exhibited in Equator College Art Gallery, 7 Leith Street 10200 Penang, from 5th July evening, to 7th July. Exhibition time from 6th to 7th July is from 9am to 6pm.
The participants should collect the artwork from Equator College, in a week's time from 7th - 14th July. The organizers will try their best effort to ensure the artworks in good condition, and will not be held responsible for any damage or loss.

The workshops on 4 July is Motif Table Lamp and 5 July is Weaving Handphone Pouch. The time starts from 2pm to 5pm for both days.

Congratulations to our Equatorian who have participated in the Penang Green Carnival - Model Making Competition 2015! The winners are Por Shi Wei & Ang Phei Fang, and the third prize goes to Lim Wei Shen & Bong Kian Nen.
Live Demo by Khoo Cheang Jin
Today's live demonstration and sharing session for Batch 153 new students by local famous artist Mr. Khoo Cheang Jin. The streetscape with old buildings and unique Architecture has always been his subject for painting. During the demo, Cheang Jin shared his approach in skecthing and watercolour painting and encouraged new students to go out into nature to paint field studies and then create their works inspired by the atmospheric, memories and imagination.
"Design with Heart" NPYDA 2015 Official Launching
Improving functionality, enhancing experiences and transforming lives is the core ethos of "Design With Heart", selected as this year's theme at the Nippon Paint Young Designer Award. "Design With Heart" aims to be the catalyst that spurs young interior designers and architects to ideate concepts that infuse convenience, practicality and purpose into our living, working and leisure spaces.

Xue Kai 001 SS 2016 Fashion Show
Famed by his Sakura Collection 2014, alumni Lim Syer Kai dedicated his Avant Garde collection of Xue Kai 001 Spring/Summer 2016 unveiled during the Penang Fashion Week 2015 Festival. He explored the ideas of form & shape - modifying the pattern structure and monochromatic colors with suit, pants and long dress. Can't wait for his next up coming collection.
Pulau Tikus Logo Design Competition Exhibition at Gurney Plaza
The Pulau Tikus Logo & Theme Design Exhibition of 110 entries were held at Gurney Plaza, Ground Floor New Wing from 18th - 8th May 2015.

Congratulations to our Fine Art students for winning the first ever Art At The U | Open Competition 2015! The students, Tan Jia Xuan won 2nd prize(left) and Ang Bee Ching won 4th prize(right), each walked away with cash prizes of MYR4,000 and MYR2,000 respectively. Fashion design department hosted the "House of 128" Fashion Show of 6 young designers for public viewing at Leith Street Campus recently. The showcase provides the practical experience of the intensity of the fashion industry. It is also a kick-start for the careers of young designers and may going on to launch their own labels, open their own stores, win awards, and work nationally and internationally with top designers in the future.

60 Equator students taking 'Malaysian Cultural Studies' subject visited different district of the Orang Asli Village located at Gopeng, Perak. The purpose of this trip is to further understand the life and culture of the aboriginals and how they adhere to the environment away from the city.
